這一兩年來相信大家對 KSHMR 這名字絕對不陌生，他曾以新人之姿接連攻下 Beatport 的榜單，然而你有所不知，事實上 KSHMR 早有多年的編曲經驗，與素有 EDM 界 Max Martin 之稱的 Maarten Vorwerk 一般，他們都是一首又一首膾炙人口作品的超級幕後寫手“Ghost Producer”今兒咱就來揭開這層面紗，看看 KSHMR 究竟為何方神聖
不曉得有沒有朋友跟小編一樣，開始接觸 EDM 前是先聽西洋流行樂起家，每週的例行公事就是要給他發摟一下 Billboard Hot 100 Single，直到某一天，David Guetta、Calvin Harris 這些名字接二連三地出現在歌曲榜上，當時還一度以為那個叫大衛是唱歌的咧（逃～）所以如果你也是聽西洋流行樂的老朋友，肯定知道 Like A G6 這首由 Far East Movement（東方聯盟 ）演唱且紅透半邊天的夜店國歌吧！

The Cataracs 是個美國流行音樂獨立製作團體，成員包括了 Niles Hollowell-Dhar（Cyranizzy）（圖右）及 David Benjamin Singer-Vine（Campa）（圖左），從作曲、唱歌甚至到發行都是由兩人一手包辦，而事實上兩位是高中時期的好友，所謂不打不相識，當年他倆可是以 Rap Diss 來 Diss 去才認識的呢！
聽過他們的作品就知道他們其實很有自己的味道，只可惜在競爭激烈的主流音樂市場實在難以出頭，儘管經常參與流行歌手的歌曲製作團隊，甚至也都有掛名，但許多人還是不認識他們...

到了2012年初，The Cataracs 出現前所未有的巨變，David 因個人因素宣佈退團，留下 Niles 繼續以 The Cataracs 名義參與各項活動，David 的這項決定讓許多歌迷相當震驚，少了他的話 The Cataracs 就不是 The Cataracs 了吧！不過現在想想這或許也是個契機吧，Niles 體內的電子舞曲細胞早就開始萌芽了

另外他每月推出的 Set 也肯定要聽的，小編這邊推薦他的第四集，將14年及15年初的精華一次收錄，中間更不乏夾雜許多 ID 未詳尚未 Release 的歌曲，讓人更加期待他2015下半年度的作品了，想更了解他的聽這個 Set 準沒錯，一次來個過癮吧！

後記
許多做音樂的人都是以興趣為出發點，我愛音樂，但音樂跟歌迷朋友真的愛我嗎？小編相信若能將工作與興趣相結合肯定會是人生最得意的一件事，但樂在其中的同時更要能養得起自己才行，少了這個前提其餘都是枉然。其實真的很想替 The Cataracs 打抱不平，明明這麼多經典歌曲都是由他們所製作，但這個團隊卻鮮少為人所知，若當初他們能達到東方聯盟那般的威名，我想今天 David 也不會離開了吧！但就像 Niles 所說過：「上帝關上了門，但同時也幫我們開了另一扇窗」，就算剩自己一人單打獨鬥，也願意堅持下去，我很欣賞 Niles 的做法，如同精實創業的精神，勇於嘗試，努力打怪、練等之餘，更要有洞察力跟危機意識，當你發現市場或目標客群不買單、不能支持你長久走下去，那就該 Pivot（關鍵轉折；從與市場互動的結果中再循新方向），很開心 Niles 轉換跑道後找到另一片天空，他做出了更符合市場需求的產品，同時最重要的是，他依舊在做他最愛的音樂

至於 The Cataracs 的前團員 David 呢？嗯...有消息指出 David 也曾與 Vicetone 等人有密切的聯繫，David 是否也有意願要跳進 EDM 這個大時代的洪流之中呢？而 Niles 似乎也曾暗示想與 David 重新合作，所以兩人是否有攜手重新出發的可能性？這些我們就 Wait and See 囉！不過呀，現階段小編其實更期待 Niles 哪天也能跟 Calvin Harris 一樣開金口來唱一段呢！

曾有人問Blasterjaxxㄧ個頂尖的DJ需要具備什麼條件？
他們答到：「超強的混音技巧？廣泛的音樂知識？還是多元的創作能力？這些當然都要，但我們認為有ㄧ件事是最重要的，那就要懂得去『讀』聽眾（being able to “read” the crowd），也就是理解聽眾，看著他們、感受他們，什麼樣的音樂是會讓人快樂、讓人滿意，這才是我們最關心的事 」我想就是因為他們秉持著這種「願意傾聽」的態度，才成功地讓他們爬到今天的位置吧，而今天我們不管是做什麼產品或服務何嘗不是如此呢？關鍵往往在於有沒有用心了解使用者的「需求」，我們感同身受、替他們解決問題，如此世界會不會就因為有了我，而開始有ㄧ點點不一樣。

Paris Blohm，這位來自 LA 年僅 23 歲的 DJ 近年來讓人驚喜不斷，讓小編忍不住想先來介紹介紹這個小夥子。風格以 Progressive House 及 Electro House 為主的他，其實已經默默苦練七年，而對音樂充滿熱情的 Paris 始終堅持著自己的路，如今男子漢終於熬出頭，2013 年更是他生涯輝煌的一年，接連得到 Hardwell、Armin van Buuren 及 Tiësto 等大師級 DJ 的 Support，開始迅速竄紅，目前個人作品還在累積當中，他的每首歌或是 Remix 都充滿個人特色，舒服的節奏聽起來總是令人感到相當愉悅呢！
